1.Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti

Pros & Cons

This Gigabyte card is launching at a medium price, which is  more than Nvidia’s  MSRP for “stock” or basic versions of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. That puts this specific Gigabyte card into the same rough pricing tier as AMD’s Radeon RX 470 cards, of which we’ve tested one (the PowerColor Red Devil Radeon RX 470) and have more in the hopper.

Nvidia was generally pushing the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti in its launch announcement, since it’s the slightly higher-spec of the new GTX 1050-series cards, versus the vanilla GeForce GTX 1050. So it’s not a surprise that the first card we’re getting our grubby mitts on is one of the higher-end GTX 1050 Ti models, since card makers tend to want to put their best silicon foot forward. (That said, we have a couple of GeForce GTX 1050 non-Ti cards on the bench right behind it, and we’ll include one of those in the discussion here, as well.)

2.Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580

Pros & Cons

The  8GB Sapphire RX 580 Pulse earns our unequivocal recommendation, offering a slight overclock and a custom cooler that stomps on AMD’s reference design for a mere  over MSRP. This graphics card will chew through 1080p games without compromise, deliver a damned fine 1440p gaming experience (especially paired with an affordable FreeSync monitor), and even run VR games without breaking a sweat. This card delivers a lot of bang for your buck.

The RX 580 Pulse isn’t quite as cool or quiet as its pricier  Nitro+ cousin but it still delivers fine results in both areas. It’s a great graphics card for the price, delivering almost as much pure performance as the Nitro version—but it still leaves breathing room for Sapphire’s flagship. The extra  for a Nitro+ gets you a quieter, chillier cooler, a slightly higher overclock, and more robust features for pushing those clock speeds even further—namely, a dual BIOS and an extra power connector. Not too shabby.

3.Gigabyte Gv-N1660OC-6GD

Pros & Cons

For the longest time the PC gaming world was experiencing a drought of new graphics cards, and now it seems we’re amid the great flood. Nvidia introduced the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti just a few weeks ago, and now GeForce GTX 1660 cards are coming out of the woodwork.

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 OC 6G is a standout version of this GPU, as it features a decent 45MHz factory overclock and enhanced cooling, and all for the low price of . This is a fantastic graphics card for Full HD gaming, especially in the competitive space, or if you’re just starting a streaming channel.

4.ASUS GeForce GTX 1060

Pros & Cons

As with most Pascal cards, the GTX 1060 has a very high efficiency rating making it cooler than most cards and draws less power in general. That said, the GTX 1060 doesn’t pack much beef in its cooler and in our tests, its evident that the ROG Strix does have a cooling advantage over the one being used in the dual.

Its a given though as the lighter heatsink doesn’t really add much dissipating area for the fans to do their magic but at 75*C peak, its still way below the temps where we start to worry. Power consumption is as expected, very good

The ASUS GTX 1060 STRIX OC is a custom design variant of the GTX 1060 6 GB, which means it will be significantly faster than the 3 GB version. It also comes overclocked out of the box to a base clock of 1620 MHz, and memory has been overclocked also, to 2052 MHz.

ASUS is using their new triple-fan, dual-slot thermal solution we’ve seen first on the GTX 1080 STRIX and RX480 STRIX. Also included is a backplate, even though it lacks the RGB-lit ASUS ROG logo we’ve seen on the company’s RX 480..

5.EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Pros & Cons

We are going to focus on the EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SC’s performance against our factory overclocked XFX RX 460 4GB card which we bought from Newegg last week and which now sells for .  We are also going to compare the EVGA GTX 1050 TI SC against the two PNY GTX 1050 Tis that we already evaluated, for a total of nine competing cards to determine where it fits in terms of performance vs pricing.

Our testing platform is Windows 10 Home 64-bit, using an Intel Core i7-6700K at 4.00GHz which turbos to 4.4GHz for all cores as set in the ASRock Z7170 motherboard’s BIOS, and 16GB of Kingston DDR4 at 3333MHz. The settings and hardware are identical except for the drivers being tested.
