1.EVGA GeForce GTX 980
- Virtual Reality Ready
- DirectX12 Ready
We finally got our hands on a GTX 980 thanks to the fine folks at EVGA. They were kind enough to send along their Superclocked version featuring the new ACX 2.0 cooler. Based on the NVIDIA Maxwell GM204 GPU, the GTX 980 promises less power consumption than the previous flagship Kepler based GPUs and performance that meets or exceeds them.
This is also our first chance to look at EVGA’s new ACX 2.0 cooler that is said to run cooler, quieter, and use less power than previous versions. Let’s get started and find out what the latest NVIDIA GPU technology and EVGA have in store for us.back to menu ↑
- Powered by GeForce GTX 1650 Super integrated with 4GB GDDR6
- Windforce 2x cooling system with alternate spinning fans
Even at its memory clock of 12 Gbps, this setup produces 192 GB/s of memory bandwidth, which is a massive 50% increase compared to the 128 GB/s of the original GTX 1650. NVIDIA also endowed the GTX 1650 Super with more muscle than the original—1,280 CUDA cores compared to the original’s 896, a 42 (!) percent increase.
There are proportionate increases in TMUs: 80 vs. 56. The GPU clock speeds have also been dialed up to 1725 MHz GPU Boost compared to the original’s 1665 MHz. These changes also increase the card’s typical board power metric to 100 W, up from 75 W on the original. The card needs at least a 6-pin PCIe power connector, while the original GTX 1650 could make do with none.
In this review, we take a close look at the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 Super WindForce OC, a cost-optimized custom-design that is priced just $10 above NVIDIA MSRP, or . Included is a dual-fan heatsink, a backplate, and a small factory overclock.back to menu ↑
3.ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1650
- New turing architecture
- 6gb 192-bit gddr5
To help Zotac make their overclock version standout Zotac has combined a downright tiny form-factor with a large 90mm fan, and then somehow increased the boost clock from 1665 to 1695. Of course, the largest potential issue we can see with all NVIDIA GTX 1650’s is the fact that it has a narrow 128-bit memory bus and only 4GB of GDDR5 RAM.
Though, unlike the GTX 1050 it replaces, the RAM clocks in at 8.0GHz (effective / 2000MHz ‘real’) instead of 7.0 GHz. This does increase the memory bus from 112 to 128GB/s… but this is still rather narrow a memory bus for resolutions above 1080P.back to menu ↑
4.ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
- New nvidia pascal architecture delivers improved performance and power efficiency
- Classic and modern games at 1080p @ 60 fps
We generally recommend the RX 570 Strix 4GB or the low-end GTX 1060 instead, but with the recent cryptocurrency mining craze, those cards can be very difficult to find in stock. Right now, the price on this particular Strix model is unfortunately too high as well, but we’ve been told the price of this specific card will be dropping over the coming months.
Overall, 1050 Ti remains a viable budget option, but If you’re looking to save money by getting a 1050 Ti instead of a faster GPU, we recommend looking at one of the less expensive 1050 Ti cards, including Asus’s own 1050 Ti that’s currently on sale for . It has a single fan, doesn’t need a 6-pin power connection, and is only clocked a bit lower (1290MHz vs. 1392MHz). It might not be as quiet or sexy, but for budget gamers, those items shouldn’t be at the top of your list.back to menu ↑
- Clock speeds of 7008MHz
- PCI Express 3.0 Interface
The NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti has been a godsend for pretty much all brands allowing a more acceptable balance between performance and price which offers greater value to users without actually undermining what it takes to be an acceptable gaming graphics card.
That said, a lot of brands do try and make their version as attractive as possible to customers whether it be price or looks and in ASUS’ case, quality always takes the cake as the company shoots at the GTX 1050 Ti stack with a few options including the single-fan solution which we’ll be taking a look at today promising great compatibility along with whisper quiet performance. We have the ASUS PHOENIX GTX 1050 Ti for review! Read on!back to menu ↑
Best Graphics Card for Skyrim – Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks produced and released Skyrim, an open-world adventure role-playing video game. Following 2006’s The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, it is the fifth major installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise, and it was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Skyrim was made with the Creation Engine, which was redesigned especially for the game.
The team chose a more complex and exclusive open-world than Oblivion’s Imperial Province of Cyrodiil, which game designer and executive producer Todd Howard thought was less exciting. The game received positive reviews, with critics praising the character development and atmosphere, and is widely regarded as one of the best video games of all time.
