Best Budget 14 inch Laptops Under 600 – While we did rank the Acer Aspire 5 as the best laptop under 600 dollars, it is closely competed by the Acer , courtesy of the low weight, excellent processor, best possible battery, and a revolutionary, dual-channel RAM module.
However, if you are invested in the best convertible laptops at less than 600, our experts would suggest you to opt for the Lenovo Flex 5, especially for the included Active Pen.
1.Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K
The Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K has lots of expectations, as its predecessor, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-43-R19L, has owned a top spot in our best laptops list for months. With everyone working from home and students resigned to a corner with the computer for school time, there’s no better time to shop for excellent affordable laptops, and your hopes may rise as you see it either packs the latest 11th Gen Intel CPUs or AMD’s brand-new Ryzen chips.
With the Aspire A515-46-R14K, Acer is offering even better performance, thanks to a quad-core Ryzen 3 3350U processor and some extras, including a quad-core a backlit keyboard and a finger-print scanner for Windows Hello sign-in. Everything else remains unchanged, sports the same slim-and-trim chassis, solid productivity performance and a bargain price tag.
2.HP Pavilion x360
Looking for one of that uncommon breed, the big-screen convertible laptop? In October 2020, we gave Editors’ Choice honors to the HP Spectre x360 15, but that 2-in-1 carried an price tag along with its six-core Intel Core i7 processor and stunning 4K AMOLED display.
For families with much tighter budgets, HP offers the Pavilion x360 15—it has a decidedly more modest Core i3 CPU and full HD screen, but it’s just as tested. No one’s going to mistake the Pavilion for a showpiece, but it’s a capable, well-built convertible if you don’t mind its by-its-nature bulk.
3. Microsoft Surface Go 2
The second iteration of Microsoft’s tablet PC for the masses is vastly improved and one of the best midrange Windows tablets we’ve tested in years. The Surface Go 2 is a worthy competitor to both conventional laptops and the Apple iPad in ways that its 2018 predecessor is not. Key improvements include better battery life, a slightly bigger display that results in a sleeker look, and more computing performance.
While it’s certainly not cheap, the Surface Go 2 is more capable than an iPad and more versatile than a traditional laptop. It easily earns our Editors’ Choice for best midrange Windows tablet.
4.Lenovo IdeaPad S145
Last year, Lenovo’s line-up of IdeaPad laptops was spread across the price band quite evenly but the naming was a touch confusing. In the budget and mid-range segments, we had the IdeaPad 330 and IdeaPad 330S, two very similar-sounding model names but different in construction, quality, and performance.
In the upper mid-range segment was the IdeaPad 530S, which we noted in our review had noteworthy performance combined with classy design. What about this year?
5.ASUS VivoBook 15
Simplicity reigns with this design, in just about every facet. It’s a standard 15-inch system with a plain design, certainly not a head-turner but perfect for blending in. The VivoBook 15’s color isn’t too adventurous either, sporting a grey paint job, but it’s not boring thanks to a speckled metallic look.
In terms of portability, the system measures 0.78 by 14.1 by 9.1 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.75 pounds. That’s not super lightweight, but still a far cry from being heavy, and should be able to go in your backpack or bag without much notice. The chassis is made of plastic and mostly feels solid. The texture doesn’t feel too cheap, and there’s some flex if you push around the keyboard or the lid, but nothing that should be noticeable or concerning in normal use.
