1.Dell Business S2721D

Features

OUR TAKE

The Dell S2721D, along with the rest of the Dell S series monitors, is all about bringing a quality experience without breaking the bank.  At its price point, the entry-level Dell S2721D offers a reasonable package. The 27-inch 1440p screen has a 75Hz refresh-rate which should satisfy any casual gamer. Meanwhile, users more interested in a monitor for video or photo editing will be satisfied with the vivid IPS panel that hits 99% of the sRGB color gamut.

Just be mindful of some caveats – built-in speakers provide limited audio clarity and they don’t get very loud. For a QHD monitor in 2020, not supporting high dynamic range (HDR) is also disappointing, but not terribly surprising in such an affordable display. Anyone willing to overlook those flaws may get a lot of mileage out of the S2721D.

2.AOC 27B2H 27″

Features

OUR TAKE

The biggest selling point of the AOC 27B1H is its ultra-slim design with 1.5mm thin bezels at the top and at the sides of the monitor.

Note that there’s also a 5mm black border around the screen. Further, you can only tilt the screen of the monitor by -4°/22° and it’s not VESA mount compatible.

Connectivity options are as scarce as the ergonomics as there’s only one HDMI 1.4 port, one VGA input, and a headphones jack.

4.Acer Nitro XV272U

Features

OUR TAKE

The Acer Nitro XV272U KVbmiiprzx is an excellent 1440p gaming monitor. It uses an IPS panel with wide viewing angles, and it has excellent ergonomics so that you can place the screen in a comfortable viewing position. It has a 170Hz refresh rate and exceptional response times to deliver a smooth gaming experience. Its input lag is incredibly low, and it has both native FreeSync support and G-SYNC compatibility to reduce screen tearing.

It can display a wide color gamut for HDR with excellent tone mapping, and it gets decently bright enough to make some highlights pop. However, its SDR brightness is significantly lower, which means it might not be able to combat glare in a well-lit environment. It’s also not the best for dark rooms because it has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray.

5.Sceptre Curved 27″

Features

OUR TAKE

The Sceptre C275W-1920RN is housed in a matte-finish, gray-black cabinet, and the screen is almost bezel-less. You get an inch-wide bezel at the bottom, but the bezels on the sides and top are barely discernible. It comes with a silver stand with a rounded base that provides only tilt adjustment, but lacks swivel and height adjustment. When fixed to its stand, the Sceptre C275W measures 17.69 by 24.27 by 9.01 inches (HWD) and weighs 8.59 pounds.

You get an HDMI input port, in addition to a VGA port and an audio-out port to connect to a set of external speakers. The monitor still has a pair of nice sounding speakers, something you rarely find on most budget monitors. In contrast, the Benq EL2870U adds a DisplayPort input to its two HDMI ports.
