Best Baby Motion Monitors – Are you thinking of getting a movement monitor for your baby this year? We’ve looked at over twenty different options for 2020 that we purchased for testing in order to help you determine the best baby monitor for your needs. Some parents find that a movement monitor provides peace of mind and a better night of sleep by helping them to deal with any fears of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) or other issues that might arise during the night for their baby.

- HSA/FSA APPROVED - Babysense is a highly sensitive device that monitors and detects even the slightest baby's movements through the mattress.
- The Original non-contact infant monitor - Now with enhanced sensitivity - Lower risk of false alarms
The Babysense Video Baby Monitor is a budget-friendly but flawed model that we wouldn’t use every day. However, thanks to its lightweight design and low cost, we might consider packing it for a trip or keeping it on hand as a backup.

Infant Optics has been recognized as a leader in the video baby monitor category. The brand’s DXR-8 is especially popular among parents thanks to its many features, including a decent display during day and night and interchangeable lenses with the ability to pan, tilt, and zoom.
To see what all the hype was about, my husband and I (and our 1-year-old) put the monitor to the test. Over the course of many nights and many naps, we examined the setup process, design, and how well the camera and monitor performed.back to menu ↑
3.Snuza Hero SE
- Wearable baby monitor that easily clips onto your baby's diaper
- Snuza Hero monitors your baby's breathing movement and will attempt to gently rouse your baby after 15 seconds of no breathing movement.
The Snuza Hero SE is a small, portable movement monitor that attaches to the baby’s diaper and senses movement via a sensor that contacts the abdomen. It is the same size similar to competitors and functions in a similar manner but it has a cool vibration stimulus designed to rouse the baby from deep sleep to encourage movement without the need for a loud in-nursery alarm.
In addition to the vibration feature, the monitor will alarm if it doesn’t detect motion after a set amount of time. The Hero may not be the best choice for parents who want additional information provided by an app-enabled monitor or a parent unit. It is also more expensive than similar options that lack the vibration feature. However, for the price and the convenience of portability, we think the Hero is a great choice for the vibration feature alone and think most parents will agree.back to menu ↑
4.Angelcare 3-in-1 AC327
- Wireless Baby Movement Sensor Pad with 4 adjustable sensitivity levels
- After 15 seconds of no recognized movement, the monitor will sound a preliminary beep to rouse your baby
The Angelcare AC327 is a 3-in-1 monitor that combines sound, video, and motion detection in one product. While the idea of a “one and done” option is appealing and the sensor pad design means you can use this movement monitor longer than similar options, it doesn’t do any of these monitoring steps very well.
The sound is high for a dedicated monitor, but it is still far below the clarity of the sound monitors. The video is also subpar and can’t compete with any of the WiFi options with unimpressive color or clarity. While it may make a good movement monitor, it is only average in other respects.back to menu ↑
5.motorola MBP36XL-2 P
- 5" Diagonal Color Screen: Watch real-time video of your baby's room on the ergonomic parent unit with 5" diagonal color screen and never miss a moment
- Portable, Rechargeable Camera: Unplug the battery-powered camera and carry it with you from room to room for up to 3 hours on a single charge
The Motorola MBP36 is a nifty little wireless baby monitor that records both sound and video. Setup is easy and don’t need a PC to set up this Motorola baby monitor, so no need for WIFI.
This Motorola baby monitor has a fairly decent range of 650 feet from the camera, so you can carry the handheld unit around with you and if you exceed the transmitting range the unit gives you an audible alarm. This means that you can work at home or attend to other duties, while your baby is safely asleep in the nursery.
You have a large 3.5 inch screen with an LED display and crystal clear images. You receive real-time videos and sound from the nursery, so you always know whether your baby is asleep or is starting to wake.back to menu ↑
Best Baby Motion Monitors – While movement monitors do not claim to prevent SIDS, they can track the baby’s breathing movements and quickly alert parents to anything potentially going wrong, providing additional peace of mind for concerned parents. Always remember that safe sleep guidelines should be followed every night in order to reduce your baby’s risk of SIDS.
