Best b350 for Overclocking – Well, for starters, AMD CPUs tend to have a better bang for your PC gaming buck, as opposed to Intel CPUs which are disproportionately more expensive. AMD B350 motherboards are, aside from cheap and reliable, capable of overclocking.
You won’t be able to achieve any insane overclocks with a B350 motherboard, mind you, but they’ll definitely get the job done, especially if you’re building on a budget. For example, I managed to overclock my Ryzen 3 1200– a budget gaming CPU– to a stable 4.0GHz with the stock cooler and an AMD B350 motherboard.

Over this past year, AMD has made huge strides in reclaiming the market share it has been losing to Intel over the past decade. The launch of the Ryzen line of processors finally gave AMD the foothold it needed to pull itself back into relevance. The rise of AMD stock may not directly excite many gamers or enthusiast, but the products that fueled that rise certainly caught the attention of many.
AMD has now launched their refresh of the original Ryzen processor line, the Ryzen 2000 series. AMD has for quite some time now been a paragon of backwards compatibility, for which they have received well-deserved praise. The launch of the latest Ryzen CPUs should be no exception, but today, I will put that to the test.

Back at the end of July, following on from the X470 chipset, AMD launched their B450 motherboard lineup, offering a more budget-friendly entry point to the AMD Ryzen processors. ASRock were quick off the mark, releasing several new motherboards to cater for different criteria; today we look at the AS Rock B450M Pro4 motherboard.
The B450 chipset is designed to offer a better bang-for-your-buck ratio than the X470 by cutting some non-essential features while still providing a solid base for your Ryzen 2nd Gen CPU.
ASRock have retained a pair of M.2 ports, a pair of PCI-E x16 slots, as well as a x1 slot. We also see four SATA 6Gbps and four DDR4 DIMM slots, ensuring the essentials are catered for. All of that is crammed into a smaller mATX form factor, but considering the low pricepoint, things look incredibly promising.

ASRock is a relatively new company when compared to some of the motherboard manufacturers out there. Started in 2002 they wanted to use a 3C model, “Creativity, Consideration, and Cost-effectiveness”.ASRock has always been one of the first to implement a new technology into their motherboards.
They were the first to offer a front panel USB 3.0 bundle. ASRock is also the first (and only to my knowledge) to offer an Intel P67 chipset that supports Intel Lynnfield LGA 1156 CPU’s. It’s easy to forget that there are plenty of good-value B450 motherboards out there in the wake of scores of wallet-hitting X570 boards landing in the nine weeks since 3rd Gen Ryzen’s arrival. Most are equally capable of running AMD’s new CPUs, and today we’re making the switch from our trusty Ryzen 7 2700X to the mighty Ryzen 9 3900X to test previous-generation motherboards.
The first test subject is the Asus TUF B450M-Plus Gaming, a micro-ATX motherboard that ticks most boxes when it comes to an affordable board for those on tight budgets.

5.MSI B450 Gaming Pro
It is once again time to talk about a new chipset from AMD. This particular release, the B450 chipset, is no surprise. After the refresh of the X370 in the way of the X470 earlier this year, it was only a matter of time before the B300 series got the same treatment.
The differences between the the old B300 series and new B400 series are pretty minor. However, the board we are looking at today is anything but minor.
